CAE offer press optimisation services. Before making any changes on-press its advised to run certain tests to observe scientifically (by the numbers) how these changes react on-press. These changes can range from new ink technology, cell geometry, doctor blades or mounting tapes. Each aspect of the optimisation trails is documented and scientifically measured by a member of our technical team, ensuring successful press optimisation. A full technical report on our findings and recommendations is also produced for your review.
CAE have extensive experience in flexo technologies and techniques. We can help you print by numbers, ensuring press predictability, repeatability, consistency, and efficiency, thus helping you to increase productivity and reduce waste. Fingerprinting each printing press allows us to analyse ink density, dot gain, impression, registration, and other critical variables to enable you to print better. CAE will supply free optimised fingerprint plates to suite your specific needs. Our detailed and challenging fingerprint design covers every critical aspect to ensure a complete turnkey service solution, and allow us to ICC Profile your presses to our Epson proofers powered by Oplatone VKRip. This ensures accurate proof to press C,M,Y,K plus Pantone spot simulations – making the brands you print for are working with colour accurate proofs that can be measured using Spectrophotometers & Densitometers as you would on-press.
(Please Note: Fingerprinting a press is normally a two-stage process consisting of a preliminary linear run, and then a final adjusted fingerprint run.)
Your Flexographic printing press can be characterised by printing an IT8.7/4 characterisation target. From this data its possible to obtain and generate a ICC press profile because the IT8.7/8 contains various combinations of CMYK tile patches. These patches can then be scanned and a ICC press profile can be generated which can be used to ensure accurate proofs. Characterisation readings should only be considered once you have successfully completed press optimisation and final adjusted press fingerprint.
